Bastard
The chest is one of the oldest forms of storage furniture in Europe, with a long history shaped by both symbolic and social functions. Bastard is a hybrid between the traditional chest and the cardboard storage box, combining the typology of one with the material logic of the other. Made from lightweight, durable corrugated cardboard and birch wood, the piece reframes an everyday material, revealing both its structural and material qualities.
